Manny Pacquiao has the potential to beat Mario Barrios and reclaim the welterweight throne, according to one of the greatest of all time.

At the peak of his powers, the Filipino was truly electrifying, destroying his opponents with lightning-fast combinations.

Pacquiao brutally stopped Miguel Cotto, and famously finished Oscar De La Hoya.

And in the opinion of a legend, he could be on the cusp of giving fans another memorable night.

Roy Jones Jr believes Manny Pacquiao can beat Mario Barrios

On July 25, Manny Pacquiao will attempt to become the oldest welterweight world champion in boxing history, when at the age of 46, he challenges Mario Barrios for the WBC title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

While many think this is a mountain too high for ‘PacMan’ to climb, Roy Jones Jr. is confident the eight-weight King has the minerals to get the job done.

In a recent interview, the Hall of Famer claimed: “The fact that Pacquiao can get in shape and go 12 rounds at 46 years old is beating most people right there. How many people can do that?

“There’s people that are 26 who can’t hardly go one round, and you’re doing it at 46, double their age. You’ve got to take your hat off to Manny. I give Manny a chance; you always gotta give him a chance. I’m backing him.”

Would Manny Pacquiao have beaten Floyd Mayweather before loss to Juan Manuel Marquez?

Overcoming Barrios at this stage of his life would be an almighty achievement for Pacquiao, especially considering, in the eyes of many, he’s never been the same since his loss to Juan Manuel Marquez.

When he eventually faced Floyd Mayweather, the popular sportsman was a shadow of the man who once dominated the 147lbs division.

On the biggest night of his career, the brawler lost a comprehensive decision to his arch-rival.

Now, a Hall of Famer has given his take on whether a prime Pacquiao would’ve beaten Mayweather.
