Chris Eubank Sr. has maintained his popularity in his post-fighting career. Largely thanks to his eccentric and unique personality, he is still an important character in the sport.
Best known in his fighting days for his rivalry with Nigel Benn, Eubank Sr. is also the father of Chris Eubank Jr.
From having his own YouTube channel to conducting various notable interviews, boxing fans still love to hear what Eubank has to say. As a man with many stories, Eubank is a true legend of the game.
One of his stories even involves getting into a heated altercation with one of boxing’s best-known coaches.

Chris Eubank Sr. says he got into a post-fight scuffle with Teddy Atlas
In 2023, Eubank appeared on the Stamina for Sale Podcast, where he discussed stories of his career and gave his opinions on various subjects.
Among these stories was recalling a moment the former world champion had with legendary coach Teddy Atlas.
Eubank recalled an amateur boxing fight he had with one of Atlas’s fighters in the 1980s. Having lost the bout, ‘Simply the Best’ says he told Atlas that his fighter was ‘much heavier’ than him. “This is not fair what he [Atlas] did.”
The former champion then says he told Atlas, “You’ve cheated me.”
Eubank says the two then got into a fight. Speaking on the altercation, Eubank said, “Teddy Atlas bit my ear in the physical fight that I had with him.”
The fight apparently happened after Eubank’s first loss as an amateur. However, it is unclear as to who the bout was against.
Upon starting his professional career, the fighter went 10 years unbeaten before Eubank lost to Steve Collins in Ireland.

Teddy Atlas responds to Chris Eubank’s fight recollection
Recently, Atlas has chosen to give his side of the story of what happened with Eubank.
Speaking on his own YouTube channel, The Fight with Teddy Atlas, the coach said his memory was hazy of the event.
“I had a fighter matched to fight Chris. I don’t remember much about it… We won the fight. There was an altercation, a little disagreement in the locker room after the fight.”
Atlas then added that both he and Eubank were ‘proud men’, implying a clash of personalities.
Saying that Eubank was ‘bothered’ by the loss, Atlas added, “It should bother him. That’s why he became a world champion… He was competitive. He didn’t want to lose.”
“He accused me that my fighter was heavier than [he was],” Atlas added. He would then say that both fighters had weighed in, and he didn’t know how he could have manipulated the weight results of his competitor.
Confirming that he and Eubank did get into a physical altercation, he also adds that he did not remember ‘biting’ the fighter. “I don’t remember that. I hope he has a full ear.”
“Chris, if you ever hear this, I hope I didn’t bite your ear. I don’t remember if I did. Hopefully, it was just a very, very, quick little nibble… I hope it wasn’t anything significant.”
Atlas would say that he has met the fighter since, with the two seemingly having a good relationship.
