Lamont Roach needs to focus on a showdown with a talented boxer rather than a rematch with Gervonta Davis, according to a retired fighter.
In his tremendous career, ‘Tank’ has proven himself to be one of the most devastating punchers of the modern era, with the American capable of destroying his opponents with his thunderous power.
Davis annihilated Jose Pedraza in a brutal display and rendered Leo Santa Cruz unconscious with a savage uppercut.
However, in his clash with ‘The Reaper’, he looked a shadow of the man who had dominated the sport, with many believing his opponent ought to have gotten the victory.

Lamont Roach should fight Gary Russell Jr. according to Chris Algieri
Since their controversial draw on March 1, Lamont Roach has targeted a second fight with Gervonta Davis.
However, Chris Algieri doesn’t believe that will ever happen and has instead encouraged the boxer to switch his attention to another gifted operator.
In an episode of Boxing Scene Today, the ex-WBO super lightweight champion, said: “I actually don’t think Gervonta and Lamont ever get that rematch, I don’t think that happens. I think he needs to move on.
“Honestly, I don’t hate the Gary Russell Jr. fight; he’s been really inactive, but guess what? He’s always been inactive.
“He would fight once a year anyway. He looked pretty good on the Manny Pacquiao undercard.”
Gervonta Davis will go above and beyond to avoid a rival, according to a legend
Roach isn’t the only person Davis won’t be fighting anytime soon, according to a Hall of Famer.
This individual wasn’t afraid to slam the renowned power puncher.
Interestingly, the legend said Davis will avoid his rival.
