Jaron Ennis has announced that he will move up in weight and compete at 154 pounds in his next fight.
Jaron Ennis has followed up his dominant win over Eimantas Stanionis with a bold career move, rising up a weight division to compete at 154 pounds.
Jaron Ennis, who was close to fighting Teofimo Lopez, leaves the welterweight division behind with a record of 34-0, and has his sights now set on the super-welterweight titles.
Eddie Hearn has suggested three names who may be next, with another being the ultimate end goal.

Eddie Hearn names Keith Thurman amongst three names for Boots
‘Boots’ Ennis’ next fight could be one of three names, Hearn said in an interview with Pro Boxing Fans.
“I like the Bohachuk fight, Thurman, Mendoza, I don’t know.”
Hearn claimed a fight with Vergil Ortiz Jr. was the one they really wanted, but Ortiz is not yet ready and a fight between him and Ennis may have to come after Ennis, who had a no-contest with Chris Van Heerden, makes his 154 debut.
Serhii Bohachuk is now 26-2 having beaten Brian Mendoza but lost to Ortiz Jr., though many believe he should have won that fight.
Mendoza is now 22-4, having won a major upset against the giant Sebastian Fundora, who Mendoza toppled in his biggest win before losing to Tim Tszyu.
Keith Thurman is 31-1 after defeating Brock Jarvis in his only fight in three years. Thurman’s only loss came to Manny Pacquiao in 2019.
Jaron Ennis has stopped all but one of his opponents in the last eight years
In the last eight years, Ennis has racked up numerous KO wins, but there is one man who has evaded a knockout from Boots on not one, but two occasions.
That man is Karen Chukhadzhian, who first faced Ennis in 2023, when Ennis beat him in a shut-out unanimous decision.
The pair fought again in 2024, with Chukhadzhian having a little more success, but losing on points once again.
