Jake Paul showed clear dissatisfaction as his fight with world super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez fell through.
The internet star Paul will be looking to build on his headline-dominant fight against Mike Tyson in November 2024, when the influencer defeated the legend.
Following the fight with Tyson, Paul stated that he would be making a boxing-related announcement in January 2025, however, nothing was publically stated.
However, in February of 2025, rumors began to emerge concerning a fight between Alvarez and Paul. Although, it has been confirmed that the bout will not happen.
In response to the news that the pair will not compete, Paul expressed his frustrations online.

Jake Paul blasts Canelo Alvarez online as fight falls through
The YouTuber was seemingly displeased with the fact that his bout with Alvarez did not come to fruition, as he began expressing his feelings online.
Posting to his X account, Paul fired off a series of tweets at the Mexican.
Paul began by posting the contract that was allegedly signed by both fighters in an agreement for the bout. He would also say that the fight was set to be officially announced on February 11th.
Following the video, Paul would continue to speak on the now-canceled fight.
Among his tweets, Paul made comments such as, “No matter how much money they spend, they won’t be able to make a bigger fight than me and Canelito. That irked them to the core,” and “Done with this little money chasing, no respect having nut. Bent the knee and became just like the rest. Working on finalizing the next fight.”
Most Valuable Promotions also posted a video of a message from Paul to Alvarez. Accompanied by a mariachi band and dancing, Paul said “Canelo, I’m coming.”

Canelo Alvarez signs four-fight deal with Turki Alalshikh
It has been confirmed that Alvarez has signed an exclusive four-fight deal with Saudi Arabian advisor Turki Alalshikh by ESPN.
Although the fights involved in the deal have not yet been confirmed, Alalshikh has said that the Mexican will fight in Saudi Arabia in May, as well as a fight between Terence Crawford and Alvarez in September.
The deal with Alalshikh may have been the final nail in the coffin of a fight between Paul and Alvarez, as the Saudi Arabain is seemingly not interested in the bout.
Despite their relationship being tense in the past, a meeting between Alalshikh and Alvarez has seemingly led to the pair settling on terms with one another.
It is unclear now as to who the ‘Problem Child’ will face in his next boxing match, however, Paul was called out by former heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz, but has not publically responded to the offer.
