Jake Paul gives brutal assessment of next fight as he predicts ’embarrassing’ night for Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

‘The Problem Child’ will look to follow up a one-sided victory over Mike Tyson in 2024 when he takes on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

The pair will meet atop a stacked card in California on Saturday night at an event that features cruiserweight world champion Gilberto Ramirez and former UFC champion Holly Holm.

Chavez Jr.’s last fight against Uriah Hall was on the undercard of Paul’s win over Mike Perry in July 2024. With both men winning, the Mexican’s record improved to 54-6-1, as the internet star moved to 10-1 before facing Tyson.

Paul has predicted an action-packed bout when the pair meet on Saturday night. However, he is seemingly expecting a one-sided showing against the former world champion.

Jake Paul tells Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. he is going to be embarrassed on Saturday night

Paul and Chavez Jr. came face to face ahead of their pay-per-view bout on DAZN.

In the opening minutes of the conversation, Paul gives a less-than-friendly response when being asked if he feels overlooked by Chavez Jr. and his father, Julio Cesar Chavez.

“[They’re] definitely underestimating me. It’s going to be the toughest fight of his career. The most embarrassing fight of his career. He’s going to be exposed, he’s going to realize he’s easy work.

“I don’t even think him and his team know what’s going on. His head coach over here is like, ‘Oh, yeah, we watched Jake, he has seven pro fights,’ and I think these guys don’t know what they’re getting themselves involved in.

“I see the sparring partners they’re bringing in, they can’t match what I’m capable of in the ring,” Paul added. “It’s going to be a very upsetting night for him.”

Chavez Jr.’s response was, “Jake, for [talking], you’re better than me. In boxing, find out, Saturday.”

Who could Jake Paul fight after Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.?

As bookmakers have Paul as a huge favorite going into his headline bout against Chavez Jr., a win for the ‘Problem Child’ could leave him with interesting options.

Tommy Fury has said that a rematch with Paul will happen in the next 12 months, as the brother of Tyson Fury is the only man to defeat the internet star.

Paul has a long-running rivalry with fellow YouTube personality KSI, with a bout between the stars always a possibility.

It is also understood that Paul will be ranked by the WBA and WBC with a win over the Mexican. Some notable contenders in the cruiserweight division in these sanctioning bodies include Viddal Reily (WBC – 15), Joe Smith Jr. (WBA – 10), and Chris Billiam-Smith (WBC – 4, WBA – 9).
