‘It’s a bad match for him’… Dillian Whyte’s old foe speaks on risky fight for ‘The Bodysnatcher’

Dillian Whyte is set to face Moses Itauma in what very well could be his final fight.

Dillian Whyte has set himself up for a huge challenge against the extremely impressive rising prospect Moses Itauma.

Itauma, who wants more rounds, comes off yet another early stoppage win as he bested Mike Balogun last time out.

Whyte’s career has seen patches of inactivity and lackluster opposition since his loss to Tyson Fury, and it’s possible that this may well be his final fight, especially as a past foe of his does not think he can win it.

Dave Allen believes Moses Itauma is all wrong for Dillian Whyte

Though Whyte is the far more experienced fighter, and has collected an interim world title more than once, it is Itauma, who has less than half the number of fights as Whyte, who is the favorite to win.

This is likely due to recent form as, since losing to Fury in 2022, Whyte has fought just three times, with a razor-close win against Jermaine Franklin and wins against Christian Hammer and Ebenezer Tetteh. Carl Froch believes Whyte is not world-level anymore.

His former foe, Dave Allen, who Whyte beat in 2016, has said he thinks Whyte, who was close to facing Lawrence Okolie, has very little chance in the fight.

“I wouldn’t wanna box Itauma. He’s 20 years of age. […] Dillian Whyte, you know, he’s not had a serious fight for three years, he’s 37, yeah I don’t think this is the one, to be honest, for him.”

He summarized: “I think Itauma’s too young, too fresh. […] My early prediction would be an Itauma stoppage, in a couple of rounds as well.”

Moses Itauma could be the fastest man to KO Dillian Whyte

If Allen’s prediction is correct, Itauma could make a real statement for the heavyweight scene.

Though the version of Whyte facing Itauma will likely pale in comparison to his prime, ‘The Bodysnatcher’ only lost three times, and Itauma will have to one-up them all to really send a message.

2015 – Anthony Joshua – TKO7

2020 – Alexander Povetkin – KO5

2022 – Tyson Fury – TKO6

If Itauma can finish Whyte in the first four rounds, he will surely give notice to the rest of the heavyweights.
