Manny Pacquiao will return to the ring against Mario Barrios after going six years without a win.
Manny Pacquiao vs Mario Barrios is now just eight days away, with the pair facing off on 2025’s biggest night of boxing – July 19th.
Pacquiao has not won a fight since 2019, when he beat Keith Thurman, and is far removed from his prime, in which he dispatched Ricky Hatton and brutally retired his boxing idol.

Manny Pacquiao speaks fondly on ending Oscar De La Hoya’s career
In 2008, with a record of 39-5, The Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya faced 47-3-2 Pacquiao.
De La Hoya had gone 3-3 in his last six fights, losing a split decision to Floyd Mayweather, being stopped by Bernard Hopkins, and suffering a unanimous decision loss to Shane Mosley, who had already beaten him once before.
Pacquiao, who KO’d Hatton in front of his brother, picked up almost every round going into the eighth, and the fight seemed like one-way traffic with no answer in sight for the Mexican fighter.
De La Hoya’s corner made the tough decision to withdraw him in the eighth round.
Speaking to FightHype on his fight with De La Hoya, who Pacquiao claimed was his boxing idol, Pac Man said, “When I fight one of my favorite fighters, De La Hoya, it is an honor. I am excited to face him in the ring. I did what I expected to. […] It’s just a sport. […] I’m just doing my job as a fighter.”
