‘I’ll knock Jake Paul’ out cold… Former boxing world champion threatens to make a comeback if ‘The Problem Child’ beats Mike Tyson

Jake Paul could have another monster fight on his hands if he beats Mike Tyson, with a former heavyweight world champion desperate to share the ring with him.

And while still very much past his prime, this legend is six years younger than the man who’s scheduled to set foot in the ring with ‘The Problem Child’ on Friday night.

Shannon Briggs threatens to knockout Jake Paul

Shannon Briggs is a former 2x heavyweight world champion, possessing nothing short of dynamite in his fists, with an astonishing 53 finishes on his record.

However, he hasn’t fought since beating Emilio Zarate in 2016, at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

Regardless, he’s still technically on a nine-fight win streak and would love the chance to take on Jake Paul, even if he previously trained his brother Logan Paul.

In an exclusive interview with talkSPORT, the power puncher opened up about why he’d need to avenge Mike Tyson, should he suffer a defeat at AT&T Stadium.

He said: “I’m not retired, it’s just that nobody wants to fight me.

“I’m just inactive because they are scared. They’re scared of me champ.

“I’m looking to fight in March, and if Jake beats Mike Tyson, then I’m going to avenge Mike and knock Jake out cold.

“That’s what I want to do if he wins… I’m telling you first, if Mike loses, then I’ve got to do this for the neighborhood.

“You see the hat? Brownsville Boxing Academy. I can’t let Mike go out like that.”

Jake Paul was left furious after a boxing promoter branded him ‘average’

Whether Briggs gets the fight with Paul or not, it goes without saying that the 27-year-old is likely to respond.

After all, the Cleveland brawler is no stranger to verbal alteractions, often refusing to back down when someone insults him.

However, he doesn’t always get the better of these back-and-forths.

On one occasion, Paul was left with little to say after a promoter, brutally called him nothing more than ‘average’.
