‘I’ll be waiting’… George Kambosos sent ominous warning by undefeated world champion ahead of Yordan showdown

Should George Kambosos Jr secure a homecoming win later this month, ‘Ferocious’ could soon find himself standing across from the IBF World Super Lightweight champion.

It could be a very busy Summer for fan favorite Australian George Kambosos Jr, who is set to headline the Qudos Bank Arena next weekend against 38-year-old veteran Daud Yordan.

Yordan is by no means a walkover, although there are already plans being put in place for Kambosos’ next fight – one that’ll see him finally face off with a sensational undefeated champion.

IBF champion Richardson Hitchins sends warning to George Kambosos

Whilst there’s very little animosity between Kambosos and his incoming opponent, the same can’t be said for undefeated IBF World Super Lightweight champion Richardson Hitchins.

Hitchins (19-0) claimed ownership of the IBF title last December with a split-decision win over Liam Paro and now has his sights set on a ‘Ferocious’ throwdown down under.

“George, I know you’ve been talking a lot. Next week is your big opportunity, don’t f— it up!” teased Hitchins in a recent social media post.

“You get the victory, and you get to get a personal a—beating from me next… So, make sure you do what you gotta do… I’ll be waiting for you.”

In a prior interview with Fight Hype, Hitchins admitted that there was genuine animosity between him and the former lightweight world champion.

“I think me and George Kambosos have real animosity, real beef that we gotta handle… I’m going to make an example out of Kambosos if we do end up fighting.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn has also confirmed that “If he gets through Daud Yordan, I think it’ll be Kambosos for Hitchins in New York in June.

“I think, because Paro lost his world title, it’s not really a fight that George is really interested in. He wanted Paro for the world title, but he’s got his mind set on becoming a two-division champion – he thinks he can beat Hitchins.

“It’s a very tough fight, but it’s got good spice between those two as well… George has got spice with everybody, but those two have been going at it on social media and stuff like that.”

George Kambosos must first get through Daud Yordan on March 22

Before a deal can be made for Hitchins vs Kambosos, the Australian must first get through 47-fight veteran Daud ‘Cino’ Yordan – with that fight scheduled for Saturday, March 22.

The 38-year-old Yordan has been on a nice run of late, bouncing back from a UD loss to Anthony Crolla in 2018 with five consecutive wins; all five of which ended via TKO/TKO.

Whilst there’s very little animosity between Yordan and Kambosos, the war of words has now begun with the Indonesian teasing that he can’t wait to spoil Ferocious’ party down under.

“I’m not coming to Sydney to lose against Kambosos, I’m coming to knock George out! I want all my Indonesian fans to be in Sydney to witness on March 22 at the Qudos Bank – see you in the arena!”

It didn’t take long for Kambosos to respond, with Yordan’s fiery message matched in kind by the popular Aussie.

“Cino, I saw your message today – that’s what I want to hear. You haven’t been talking much at all, good, well you want to come and knock me out? That’ll be your biggest mistake, I can’t wait… Imma knock you out.”

George Kambosos vs Daud Yordan goes down live via DAZN on Saturday, March 22.
