‘I wouldn’t be 100% sure’… Oleksandr Usyk’s manager offers comment on Tyson Fury’s recent retirement

Following his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk this past December, Tyson Fury once again announced his retirement from boxing.

After disappointing losing to Oleksandr Usyk last May, Tyson Fury was handed an immediate rematch at one of the pound-for-pound best fighters on the planet.

Unfortunately for ‘The Gypsy King’, he went on to lose another decision against the Ukrainian which he claimed was a poor decision from the judges.

Not long after suffering the devastating loss, the former Heavyweight champion once again announced that he was retiring from the sport.

Oleksandr Usyk’s manager doubts the legitimacy of Tyson Fury’s retirement

After Fury’s second loss to Usyk, it seemingly opened the door for a much-asked-for bout between him and Anthony Joshua.

Despite Fury’s shock retirement, promoter Frank Warren remained confident that they could strike a deal for the all-British clash.

Warren isn’t the only one who remains unsure regarding the legitimacy of Fury’s retirement as Usyk’s manager, Alex Krassyuk also isn’t under the belief that the Brit will actually remain retired.

“Only time can show us whether Tyson Fury’s retired because he’s been doing this for quite a while, I think this is probably the seventh time he’s retired, so we can’t be 100% sure,” Krassyuk told IFL TV.

“But he sounds serious, now he has some arguments for that because he lost two times in a row to Usyk but was it his last time in the ring, well, I wouldn’t be 100% sure,” he continued.

Usyk’s manager provides an update regarding his next fight

On February 22, Daniel Dubois will defend his IBF Heavyweight title against Joseph Parker with the winner potentially taking on Usyk for Undisputed status.

Following his win over Fury, Usyk had an impromptu face-off against Dubois, having already controversially beaten him once before.

Despite that, Usyk’s manager believes at the moment, there is absolutely nothing left for the 38-year-old in the heavyweight division.

“There’s nothing left for Usyk at this time, now… I have no idea (what’s next for him)… Let’s see what happens on February 22. I believe Parker is going to win, Dubois is stronger, he’s way stronger than he used to be in the first fight with Usyk but my bet is with Parker,” he continued.

Although he isn’t sure what’s next for his fighter, he knows for sure what won’t happen. Turki Alalshikh has recently claimed how he would like Wladimir Klitschko to come out of retirement and attempt to become the oldest champion ever, however, Krassyuk stated that fight wouldn’t happen.

“Wladimir Klitschko has the plan, a dream, a thought, an idea, to become the oldest ever champion of the world… It’s serious. This is what I can say for sure, Usyk and Klitschko will never step in the same ring, never, ever,” he admitted.
