‘I will not pick up the phone’… Tyson Fury’s promoter makes shock claim about heavyweight’s fighting future

While many are excited to see Tyson Fury return to action, his promoter, Frank Warren, certainly isn’t rushing into anything.

The businessman claims he will not be contacting ‘The Gypsy King’ and asking him to set foot back in the ring anytime soon.

Tyson Fury will not be pressured to continue fighting after Oleksandr Usyk loss

On December 21, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Tyson Fury put in a sublime effort to try and earn revenge over Oleksandr Usyk.

However, while he showcased breathtaking boxing IQ and undeniably improved from the first encounter, it still wasn’t quite enough to claim a victory over the Ukrainian genius.

Therefore, with no belts, two consecutive losses, and having already achieved so much, is there any point in carrying on?

Frank Warren isn’t so sure, with the entrepreneur certainly not pushing for the Englishman to return to the squared circle, despite the possibility of a showdown with Anthony Joshua.

In his column with The Daily Star, the promoter explained: “I will not be picking up the phone and asking Tyson Fury to fight again.

“If opportunities come my way for him they will be passed on, but there will be no advice from me on whether or not Tyson should take them. I haven’t spoken to him yet about an Anthony Joshua fight and I will only do so if he comes to me and says he wants to get in the ring with him.

“My only hope is for Tyson to be happy and content with life.”

Tyson Fury: Five potential future opponents
