Fabio Wardley stopped Justis Huni in the tenth round of their all-action heavyweight fight after being significantly behind on every scorecard.
Fabio Wardley was never expected to do great things in boxing, owing to his non-existent amateur pedigree and just four white-collar bouts as his basis for going pro.
However, in his two fights with Olympian Frazer Clarke, the second of which saw Wardley KO Clarke in one round, the Ipswich man proved his ceiling was higher than many thought.
Last night, he proved that again, knocking Justis Huni, a stellar amateur, out in the tenth round after losing almost every round prior.

‘That can be the story of this fight’… Fabio Wardley predicted exactly how his fight with Justis Huni would go
Ahead of his fight with Huni, who survived a drive-by shooting, Wardley spoke at a press conference, with his words bearing an eerily similar resemblance to exactly what happened last night:
“You can be great for 12 rounds, but I only have to be great for one second and land on you and it’s all over, and that’s…
That can be the story of this fight and he may pull out all the tricks and he may delve deep into that ABA boxing bag and box circles around me in the ring but if I land we all know what happens.”
Huni’s stock undoubtedly rose despite the loss, as it was clear he had Wardley frustrated and out of ideas until the saving grace KO.
Fabio Wardley has only gone to points twice in his career
Now 19-0-1, Wardley now boasts 17 KO victories. He has gone the distance only twice, with one of those being his draw against Frazer Clarke, who he knocked out in their rematch.
The only man to face Wardley, who underestimated Huni, and not be knocked out was Jakub Wojcik, who Wardley faced in his pro debut.

Wojcik was 8-17-2 when he faced Wardley, and was dropped in round one from a left hook.
Despite the knockdown, Wojcik survived the four-round distance, and became the first and only man to survive Wardley’s power.
