‘I have to be ready’… Manny Pacquiao addresses rumors of fight with legendary rival if he succeeds in dangerous comeback

Manny Pacquiao is just two days out from his huge comeback fight against Mario Barrios, in which the 46-year-old Pac Man hopes to pick up his 13th world title.

Manny Pacquiao vs Mario Barrios will top 2025’s biggest night of boxing, and will see the aged Filipino legend vie for another world title, breaking his own record of being the oldest welterweight world champion.

Pacquiao’s age is not on his side, though, and neither is his activity, as he has fought just once in the last four years and hasn’t won a fight in the last six.

Despite that, Pacquiao, who Teofimo Lopez thinks will beat Barrios, boasts a wealth of experience, having faced a series of legends, one of whom he could share the ring with once more.

Manny Pacquiao speaks on rumored Floyd Mayweather rematch

In an interview with Boxing News, Pacquiao was asked about the rumored rematch with Floyd Mayweather, though Pacquiao refused to give too much away,

“I don’t have that in my mind right now […] I always say one at a time, let’s talk about it after the fight. […] I have to be ready 100%.”

Though Pacquiao didn’t confirm the rumors of Pacquiao vs Mayweather 2, he didn’t seem surprised at the reporter’s question or shut them down.

Floyd Mayweather defeated Pacquiao in 2015 to unify the welterweight world titles in one of the biggest fights in boxing history.

According to BoxRec, Pacquiao said after the fight, “I thought I won the fight. He didn’t do nothing.”

Pacquiao had six more fights, including a controversial loss to Jeff Horn, before his unsuccessful 2021 comeback against Yordenis Ugas.
