Canelo Alvarez vs Chris Eubank Jr gets even closer
Alvarez’s next opponent is always a hot topic in the boxing circle, but there are few bigger names than his next rumored challenger.
The Mexican has been touted to be facing Eubank Jr in a defense of his undisputed super middleweight titles.
Eubank Jr has become one of the biggest stars in British boxing and increased speculation on Wednesday by signing a huge new promotional contract with Boxxer and Sky Sports.
The British fighter, who has been training stateside in Floyd Mayweather’s gym recently, is reportedly in talks with Alvarez for a huge fight later this year.
Now Eubank has signed with Ben Shalom’s Boxxer, the promoter has hinted at a fight with Canelo on a recent Instagram post, stating he wants to make the mega fights.
Canelo Alvarez not the only option for Chris Eubank Jr
The Alvarez fight may be the biggest name out there for Eubank Jr, but it is not his only option.
The British fighter has become one of the biggest pay-per-view stars on UK soil and has sold out multiple big arenas across his career.
Eubank Jr has been linked with a fantasy fight with Conor Benn after their fathers Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr had a bitter rivalry.
The two were set to face off in 2022 but Benn tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs, however, this new promotional contract could see the mega fight land on Sky Sports.
