‘He’s getting old now…’ Knockout star offers bold prediction for Canelo Alvarez’s title return with Terence Crawford

With many pundits split on next month’s huge super fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, a former world champion has laid out his bold prediction.

Returning to the ring in just weeks’ time, Canelo Alvarez will put his undisputed super middleweight crown on the line as he takes on the undefeated Terence Crawford in a blockbuster showdown.

And while many have backed Crawford to the hilt to take out Canelo in an impressive move in weight to take the belts, the Omaha native has been warned about his rapid move in divisions, too.

Furthermore, it’s not just the potential size difference which is a cause of concern for a former world champion, who believes Crawford may find himself up against the ropes early.

Regis Prograis picks younger Canelo Alvarez to beat Terence Crawford

Two years older than super middleweight champion Canelo, Nebraska star Crawford has now been warned by former WBC light welterweight champion Regis Prograis that his age — paired with the power equation of the clash — may leave him wanting in Las Vegas.

“He’s not like that [a mover] and he’s getting older now, too,” Prograis told FightHub TV. “If Crawford can pull it off, it’ll be amazing, but I don’t see it.

“Canelo is big, he’s strong. I hear that he’s [Crawford] going to knock him out,” Prograis explained. “Canelo has been hit by (Sergey) Kovalev, and GGG (Gennady Golovkin). These were big punchers. Erislandy Lara and (Dmitry) Bivol. He’s been hit by real big punchers.”

And while Prograis has offered his definitive take on who will prevail between Canelo and Crawford, an acting icon is keeping his cards close to his chest, to say the least.

Denzel Washington offers up Canelo vs. Crawford excitement

Set to attend next month’s massive super middleweight title fight in Las Vegas, award-winning actor Denzel Washington has spoken highly of the challenger pre-bout.

Describing the undefeated former welterweight champion as “one of the best” boxers he has ever seen, Washington elected against offering up a prediction for the super fight’s winner.

“I love Crawford, I try to be like him. I love Canelo. I can’t call it, I won’t call it,” Washington told Sports Illustrated.
