‘He’s blowing everyone away’ Moses Itauma urged to fight disgraced 340lb heavyweight by veteran boxing analyst

With a laundry list of heavyweight stars linked with a clash against Moses Itauma, a leftfield opponent has been floated by the ‘Voice of Boxing’.

Already tied to an undisputed heavyweight title charge against his fellow unbeaten star Oleksandr Usyk, recent big winner Moses Itauma streamrolled to his thirteenth straight win over the weekend.

Taking out the veteran Dillian Whyte in devastating circumstances, Itauma finished the former interim WBC heavyweight champion with a brutal knockout.

But while contenders line up in their droves to fight Itauma, the Slovak-born star has been tied to a rather surprising opponent next.

Adam Smith urges Moses Itauma to consider Jarrell Miller fight

Calling the action in Riyadh in Itauma’s star-making win over Whyte, veteran boxing commentator Adam Smith has weighed in on what should be next for the 13-0 starlet.

And hoping to see a steady rise to the top for Itauma, Smith suggested rounds — and lots of them are the name of the game for the former, urging him to consider both Filip Hrgovic, as well as the sizable Jarrell Miller, as his next opponents.

“I wouldn’t rush him (Itauma), personally,” Smith told Box Nation. “I think he needs somebody like Filip Hrgovic or somebody like Jarrell Miller. I think he needs rounds.

“He needs somebody who is going to test him,” Smith continued. “Somebody who has got a little bit of ambition. Hrgovic certainly showed that — he was fit and conditioned against David Adeleye. I think that would be interesting.”

Himself set to return next month in line with Canelo Alvarez’s super fight with Terence Crawford, Miller will meet Michael Hunter during that same fight week.

Moses Itauma receives big backing to shock Oleksandr Usyk

And while the controversial Miller has now been tied to a clash with Itauma, links to a rushed title fight with Usyk persist.

Notably, former undisputed WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has claimed Itauma would “wreck” his former two-fight rival Usyk if they shared the ring.

In typical Fury fashion, having picked Itauma as the sole fighter to beat Usyk in his career, the Morecambe native suggested he still has the tools to topple the Ukrainian megastar.
