Floyd Mayweather’s boxing career has once more come under the microscope from a bitter rival of his, who weighed up his career against veteran star Manny Pacquiao.
Regarded as the two greatest fighters of their generation, Mayweather and recent returner Pacquiao enjoyed stellar success up and down divisions over the course of their careers.
And linked with a rematch in the time since their historic 2015 showdown, Mayweather has flipped-flopped on whether or not he would fight the Philippines’ fan-favorite again.

But coming under fire in recent weeks with many Hall of Famers and ex-pros breaking down his run, Mayweather has seen a recent rival weigh-in on the debate of his career.
Roy Jones Jr. claims Floyd Mayweather fought fighters out of their prime
Involved in a recent feud of sorts with former world champion Mayweather on social media, iconic former middleweight champion Roy Jones Jr. was mocked on social media by the Michigan puncher.
Seeing footage of his infamous knockout loss to Antonio Tarver posted online, Jones Jr. has hit out at Mayweather in the time since.
And again blasting Mayweather, Jones Jr. claimed when it comes to competition in the ring, the ex-champion elected to fight opponents out of their prime, and “struggled” with a particular foe.
“What top black fighter did Floyd (Mayweather) ever face and beat handily in their prime? Not one,” Jones Jr. told The Ring. “He struggled with an old Oscar De La Hoya. Mayweather’s dad said he lost that fight.
“Then they say Floyd beat so many world champions. Most were not world champions at the time; they were ex-world champions,” Jones Jr. continued.
Roy Jones Jr. compares Manny Pacquiao’s career to Floyd Mayweather’s
Going a step further, Jones Jr. even hit out at Mayweather for not taking a fight with Terence Crawford during the tail end of his career — as well as fighting a young Canelo Alvarez.

And lining up Mayweather’s career against that of welterweight star Pacquiao, Jones Jr. claimed the latter failed to wait around and took on all comers during his run.
“(Manny) Pacquiao fought everyone who was at his level. In my humble opinion, it’s almost safe to say that Pacquiao had a better career than Mayweather had,” Jones Jr. explained. “
“He didn’t make the money Mayweather made, but he fought the fights that were supposed to be fought, when it was time to fight them. He didn’t wait around.”
