Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing are linked with signing one of the best fighters in the sport, and a deal could be done very soon.
Eddie Hearn boasts one of the best stables of fighters in boxing with the likes of Anthony Joshua, Katie Taylor, and Dmitry Bivol all signed to the promoter.
As good as his stable has been in recent years, Hearn suffered a heavy defeat to Frank Warren in the Matchroom vs. Queensbury ‘5v5’.
Now the promoter looks to strengthen his squad and is rumoured to be signing one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.

Hearn is always looking for boxing’s next star and it now looks like he is set to sign one of the best in the sport.
He teased the possibility of signing three-division world champion Shakur Stevenson in a recent interview.
Stevenson will become a promotional free agent after his fight this Saturday and Matchroom Boxing are looking to snap up the P4P star.
“If Shakur (Stevenson) wants to pledge his future, then you make a significant investment,” Hearn told Fight Hub TV.
“I think Shakur is pound-for-pound one of the best fighters in the world, he may be unbeatable.
“I think he’s a great fighter, I think he’ll be an incredible addition to the Matchroom team and if he’s available we will definitely be having a conversation.”
The fighter increased speculation about a possible deal being done between the two when he replied to a video of the interview on X.
Matchroom Boxing a great move for Shakur Stevenson
The chance of signing for Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing is one Stevenson must take. The American has some of the best skills of any fighter in the sport today but has failed to gain a big following in the US.
Hearn has a great history of helping skilled fighters such as Devin Haney become huge stars and can do the same for Stevenson.
Saying this, the 26-year-old sure isn’t short of confidence in his own ability. Back in April 2024, he described himself as the ‘best boxer on the planet’.
It would be a great move for all parties, so will be extremely interesting to see what comes to fruition.
