Chris Eubank Jr stole the show at Wednesday’s press conference for Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol, branding three of boxing’s leading promoters as ‘scumbags.’
With Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren left stunned by his outburst, it is fair to say that the 35-year-old took absolutely no prisoners in London.
However, shortly after threatening to take legal action against the super middleweight contender, Warren accepted Eubank Jr’s formal apology in the wake of his shocking media stunt.
But still, no one is likely to forget the unsavoury words expressed by the Brit, who will appear on a stacked card headlined by Beterbiev vs Bivol on October 12.

Hamzah Sheeraz blasts Chris Eubank Jr’s ‘silly’ rant
Middleweight contender Hamzah Sheeraz has established himself as one of British boxing’s brightest stars after securing emphatic finishes against the likes of Austin Williams and Tyler Denny.
But Sheeraz has also hit back at Eubank Jr on several occasions, hoping to entice the former world title challenger into a domestic dustup.
And yet, while one would assume that the pair remain a fair distance away from colliding, the 25-year-old puncher held nothing back when assessing his rival’s recent comments.
“It was a bit silly of him,” Sheeraz told BoxNation when asked about Eubank Jr’s outburst. “On a stage like that, on such a big, big platform – I mean, it could’ve been done elsewhere.
“There was no need for him to do it there and then, and especially going on to apologies later just makes you look stupid; it makes you look silly.
“But like I said, the more I’m starting to see more of his interviews, and understand him as a person, he’s one deluded guy.”
Hamzah Sheeraz questions why Chris Eubank Jr has teamed up with trainer Johnathan Banks
In preparation for his next outing against Kamil Szeremeta, Eubank Jr will join forces with esteemed head coach Jonathan Banks following his departure from Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre.
The son of legendary boxer Chris Eubank highlighted that Banks, who was in the corner of former middleweight king Gennady Golovkin when he dispatched Szeremeta, will be able to formulate the correct gameplan for his ring return.
But Sheeraz mocked his justification on social media, claiming that he is “deluded” for citing this as a reason for switching trainers.
And, in fairness to Sheeraz, it was indeed somewhat bewildering when Eubank Jr chose to leave Bomac after his impressive stoppage over Liam Smith last year.
