This allowed him to become the wealthiest athlete in sporting history, and consequently shower his family with expensive gifts.
This Christmas, the legend went the extra mile, buying his grandson a building.

In a video uploaded to his Instagram, he told the three-year-old: “Guess what Papa bought you. I got you a gift. Guess what I bought you. You the first kid that own a building in a diamond district in New York City. We bought you a building. Papa bought you a building.”
The pair, sporting matching pajamas, then hugged and high-fived, before the youngster proceeded to give his grandad a teddy bear wearing a suit.
The property, located on 6th Avenue and 47th Street in Manhattan, comes complete with offices and a huge income-generating billboard.
In a statement, Mayweather said: “I used to shop in the diamond exchange as a young adult.
“I never thought I would end up owning this important property at the entrance of 47th street…
“Through hard work and dedication, anything is possible.”
