‘Good lad’…. Jake Paul’s kind gesture caused John Fury to give him credit prior to 2023 loss

Jake Paul has quickly become one of the biggest names in boxing, despite taking an unorthodox route to becoming a headliner.

The YouTube star has defeated former MMA fighters, fellow YouTube stars, and even an NBA player as he currently boasts an 11-1 record.

Paul has stoppage wins over the likes of Mike Perry and Tyron Woodley, as he faced both men following their departure from the UFC. However, his first loss came in 2023 when he faced Tommy Fury.

Prior to their meeting, the pair often engaged in some verbal sparring. However, the two did share a moment of respect before they met in the ring.

Jake Paul offered Tommy Fury a gift during their 2023 face-to-face

Prior to their February 2023 meeting in Saudi Arabia, Paul and Fury sat down with one another to discuss the fight and their personal feud.

At one point in the meeting, Paul apologizes to Fury for ‘leaking’ the announcement of his daughter. “I didn’t mean to say that,” Paul said.

Fury was seemingly unbothered by the situation Paul was referring to, however, ‘The Problem Child’ gave ‘TNT’ a gift to say sorry.

Paul then hands Fury a gift-wrapped box and says, “I actually got a gift for Bambi, just as a sorry gift… This is a big designer baby brand.”

The gift was from French luxury brand Bonpoint, and was seemingly baby clothes.

John Fury then approached Jake Paul to shake his hand for the gesture. “You’ve gone up a million percent in my estimations. Appreciate you, let the best man win.”

Tommy Fury handed Jake Paul his first loss in 2023

Paul had a 6-0 record going into his headline bout against Fury, but would succumb to his first loss.

The internet stars would have a closely contested fight across eight rounds, before the fight was decided via split decision.

A knockdown in the final round would not be enough for Paul to get the victory, as Fury extended his unbeaten record to 9-0.

Although Paul explained the reasons for his loss to Fury, they have not been scheduled to rematch. However, a sequel meeting between the pair in the future is a possibility.
