‘Going to be a nightmare’… Carl Froch gives one-sided prediction for Daniel Dubois vs Joseph Parker

Joseph Parker will look to become a two-time world champion when he faces Daniel Dubois on February 22nd.

As the heavyweights will meet in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Dubois will be looking to make the second defence of his IBF World Heavyweight title.

Dubois had one of his best knockouts over Anthony Joshua in September of 2024 having been upgraded from interim champion prior to the bout to earn a title defence.

Parker will come into the bout following an impressive victory of Zhilei Zhang, who sent the New Zealander to the canvas on two occasions before losing a majority decision.

However, former champion Carl Froch feels that the heavyweight contest will be a one-sided affair.

Carl Froch believes Daniel Dubois vs Joseph Parker won’t be a close fight

Speaking on his Youtube channel, Froch on Fighting, former world super middleweight champion Froch gave his predictions for the ‘The Last Crescendo’ on February 22nd, headlined by the Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol rematch.

When speaking on the heavyweight clash between Dubois and Parker, Froch gave a very one-sided prediction.

When discussing the form of both of the fighters, Froch stated that he didn’t believe that Parker’s win over Deontay Wilder was overly impressive. Froch feels that Wilder has looked poor in his previous outings, which takes away from Parker’s performance.

As for Dubois, Froch gave credit to the champion for his performances against Filip Hrgovic, Jarrell Miller, and Joshua before ultimately picking the Englishman to win on February 22nd.

“I like everything about Daniel Dubois at the minute. Big puncher, nice jab… This is going to be a nightmare for Joseph Parker,” Froch said.

“For Joseph Parker to win this fight, he’s going to have to stay out of trouble, use his jab and his movement, get around the ring on his feet and stay out of trouble for 12 rounds.

Froch finished his analysis by saying, “I think Daniel Dubois is going to do the job… I think Daniel Dubois is going to demolish him.”

In terms of other notable names to predict the fight, Derek Chisora has also picked Dubois to defeat Parker, having faced the challenger twice.

As well as predicting the IBF World Heavyweight title fight, Froch also predicted the highly anticipated rematch between Beterbiev and Bivol.

Froch started by saying that the age factor may play a role in the fight, given that Beterbiev is 40 years old and Bivol is six years younger. However, ultimately feels that it will not be decisive.

The former champion says the rematch between the Canadian and Russian will go very similarly to their first meeting, where Beterbiev won on points.

This even includes Froch picking Beterbiev to get a second win over Bivol on February 22nd. “Any one of these guys can win this fight but I just think Beterbiev has got that edge.

With the power and the big finish [in the first fight] shows he’s still fit at 40 years old… That could be the decider in this,” Froch said.

“My money is on Beterbiev.”
