Gervonta Davis hints at premature retirement in worrying new cryptic message

Gervonta Davis is set to face Lamont Roach Jr. for a second time after the pair fought to a draw in their first fight, but a cryptic new post casts doubt over the fight.

Gervonta Davis‘ reputation took its first real hit on March 1st this year, as Tank took on Lamont Roach Jr.

The fight ended in a majority draw, but was marred in controversy as a fight-deciding knockdown was not called against Davis, saving him from his first defeat. Davis claimed grease in his eye caused the knockdown.

Now, months away from their rematch, Davis has insinuated he is retiring instead.

‘I don’t care for boxing’… Gervonta Davis hints at retirement

Ahead of the rematch, Davis, who has a 90% KO rate, has taken to X today with a post that has fans fearing for his boxing career:

“Idc for boxing… y’all can have the number 1 spot.”

Davis has since posted a host of cryptic statements such as: “We will visit that house in upper Marlborough”

He has also responded to fans’ comments on his initial post, with one fan critiquing Tank and suggesting boxing doesn’t need him.

Davis replied: “Lol, boxing not entertaining enough without me d——.”

There has been no official statement on Davis’ retirement or of the Davis vs Roach fight being cancelled, and it is entirely possible that Davis will renege on his words.

Gervonta Davis has gone the distance just three times

Throughout his 31-fight career, Davis has gone the distance on just three occasions, to mixed results.
