Chris Eubank Jr’s fight with Conor Benn has been explosive already and it’s still weeks until fight night.
The two second-generation fighters are continuing their father’s rivalry with their fight on April 26th, three years after the fight was postponed due to Conor Benn’s failed drug test.
There was incredible tension at a pre-fight press conference when Chris Eubank Jr. egged Benn in the face.
This drew criticism from the wider boxing world and earned Eubank Jr. a £100,000 fine for his actions.

However, it only added to the anticipation for the fight, with one former world champion noting the hilarity in the situation.
Carl Frampton thinks egg incident was ‘funny’
Carl Frampton doesn’t think Eubank Jr smashing an egg on Benn’s head was dangerous, saying its just funny more than anything.
The former world champion spoke with Ring Magazine and said:
“The fight’s going to be good. I imagine there’ll be more chaos during fight week as well, so I’m just looking forward to it.
“The egg stuff—you know, people are going a little bit over the top with that.
“I think I saw Barry McGuigan say somewhere that he could have been blinded. Jesus Christ, come on—it was an egg! It was funny.”
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will host the Eubank Jr vs Benn fight on April 26th
Eddie Hearn says Eubank Jr is doing a ‘brilliant job’ promoting the fight
One man who agrees with Frampton is Eddie Hearn, the Matchroom Sports Chairman.
Eubank Jr proposed a bet with Hearn, putting £1 million on the line if he defeated Benn at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
While Hearn was legally obligated to turn it down, he had great things to say about how the fight has been built while speaking with The Stomping Ground.
“The fight is huge. The reality is that it is everywhere. [Eubank is] slagging me off everywhere, and people love that.
“It’s growing the fight, and he’s doing a brilliant job. I think the fight, as it draws closer and the media opportunities, it is going to be huge.
“It’s going to do huge pay-per-view numbers. It’s sold over 60,000 tickets already. I watch Conor Benn train. I hear comments about this being a circus, but it’s a great fight.”
