Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois will aim to put any controversy to bed when they meet in a highly anticipated rematch on July 12th.
As Dubois caught Usyk with a low blow in their 2023 fight, the moment has been a major talking point going into their sequel bout. Dubois and his team feel the shot was a legal one, however, Usyk was given several minutes to recover.
The stakes will be even higher when the pair meet for a second time. This time, the winner of the bout will walk away as undisputed heavyweight champion.
Although Dubois has been the more active of the pair since their meeting in Poland, with three fights to Usyk’s two, one boxing expert feels the Ukrainian will reign victorious.

Andy Lee predicts Oleksandr Usyk to get brace of victories over Daniel Dubois
The former coach of Tyson Fury and world champion Andy Lee was asked for his opinion on the upcoming heavyweight unification bout.
Speaking to Boxing News in a recent interview, the Irishman was asked to preview the fight between Usyk and Dubois.
Labeling the undisputed heavyweight title match as a ‘good fight’, Lee gave credit to ‘DDD’. “I think Dubois has as good a chance as anybody at the moment. He’s on such a good roll. He’s going to come and try and steamroll Usyk.”
Despite his comments on the Englishman, Lee forecasts a victory for the WBA, WBC, and WBO champion Usyk. “Unless Usyk’s gotten old overnight, I can’t see him slipping up.”
Lee finished his thoughts by saying “I’m looking forward to it.”

Tony Bellew predicts Daniel Dubois to quit against Oleksandr Usyk in unification bout
Former world cruiserweight champion and former Usyk opponent Tony Bellew gave a prediction for the unification bout speaking on Talk Sport in May.
Although Bellew gave praise to Dubois and his abilities, the now-retired fighter feels that Usyk will maintain his unbeaten record on July 19th.
Bellew feels that once a fighter has quit in the ring once, it becomes easy to do it on future occasions. Speaking on Dubois, Bellew said, “Once he starts getting back to that place, where this is really, really hard, where Usyk is going to take him, like he takes everybody else, he’s got that in him [to quit].”
The former champion added, “As a fighter, you can never show that. At some point within our careers, it’s a point where we go, ‘I might have had enough here.’ But we try and fight our way through it.”
In terms of quitting, Bellew said, “Daniel has done it twice,” referring to his two stoppage losses.
As well as Bellew’s comments, Usyk also believes Dubois still has quit in him.
