David Avanesyan says Terence Crawford punches harder than Jaron Ennis

David Avanesyan has established himself as a ferocious fighter, capable of destroying almost every opponent that sets foot in the ring with him.

However, Terence Crawford and Jaron Ennis managed to overcome the threat he brings to the table.

In his bout with ‘Bud’, the Russian showed flashes of brilliance before ultimately getting stopped in the sixth.

Against ‘Boots’, he lasted a round less, retiring on his stool at the end of the fifth.

Now, his trainer, Carl Greaves, has claimed that his fighter told him that despite not being taken out as quickly by him, Crawford is actually the heavier puncher.

He told Boxing Scene: “Boots Ennis is the more busy, more active fighter, in my opinion. He’s a bit younger and a bit fresher. On the other hand, Crawford is very, very patient. His timing is very good, and he plans just the right attacks at just the right times, whereas Ennis was more busy.

“I think that Crawford is a heavier-handed fighter.

“I was talking to David, and he said that Crawford hits harder.”

What Jaron Ennis does better than Terence Crawford

While the Omaha boxer may carry the heavier hands, he doesn’t have everything over Ennis.

Avanesyan told his trainer exactly where the IBF welterweight champion has the advantage over his rival.

Greaves said his fighter added that Boots was: “A bit sharper and busier.”
