Canelo Alvarez has bested all but two men in his career as he goes into his bout with Terence Crawford with a 63-2-2 record.
Alvarez has only lost to Dmitry Bivol and Floyd Mayweather during his impressive 20-year career, as the Mexican has scored 39 knockouts.
As one of the greatest middleweight fighters of all time, Alvarez will now look to defend his undisputed super middleweight status when he takes on Crawford in September.
It will be the first time that Alvarez competes as an undisputed champion in his second reign at 168 lbs following his win over William Scull in May.
Alvarez’s previous opponent before Scull spoke on the Mexican, explaining how their relationship recently diminished.

Edgar Berlanga explains why there is no longer respect between him and Canelo Alvarez
In September 2024, Alvarez successfully defended his WBA, WBC, and WBO super middleweight titles against Edgar Berlanga.
The Puerto Rican Berlanga went into the bout with a 22-0 record, and was seven years younger than Alvarez going into the bout in Las Vegas.
These were not factors that could lead Berlanga to victory however, as Alvarez won a convincing unanimous decision.
Speaking recently to The Ring Magazine, Berlanga said that there was respect between the pair after the fight. However, his current opinion on Alvarez is much different.
“No respect,” Berlanga said on his current feelings towards Alvarez. “I gave him so much respect after the fight. I’m saying; ‘You changed my life, thank you for the opportunity,’ and then you [Alvarez] went on an interview and said that I ran? Crazy.”
Berlanga said that he found amusement in the comments from Alvarez following the Mexican’s performance against Scull, implying that the challenger ‘was just trying to survive’ in that fight.
The Puerto Rican then said that “It’s personal with him,” in regard to ill feelings towards Alvarez.
Edgar Berlanga mentions Canelo Alvarez rematch after Hamzah Sheeraz fight
After defeating Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortiz in March 2025, Berlanga will aim to make it two wins in a row when he faces Hamzah Sheeraz (21-0-1) on July 12th.
The headline bout will take place in New York, as Sheeraz is coming off a draw to Carlos Adames in February.
Berlanga told The Ring Magazine that a rematch with Alvarez is possible in the future, but he is focused on beating Sheeraz first.
