Curmel Moton extended his undefeated record to 7-0 on Saturday night, still aged just 18.
The knockout victory was the sixth of his career as he continues to show his promise.
Working under Floyd Mayweather, Moton was able to bounce back from a big weight-miss in 2024 to secure an impressive victory.
As he continues his ascent in the sport of boxing, fans are beginning to call for a tougher test for Moton. This includes Moton’s direct response to claims he should fight one fellow undefeated fighter.

Curmel Moton eyes 42-0 knockout artist
When one fan on X suggested a matchup between Moton and an undefeated 42-0 fighter, Mayweather’s prodigy favored the matchup.
Responding to a tweet saying, “Curmel Moton vs Abel Mendoza should be next,” the 18-year-old responded saying, “I’d do him so bad.”
Abel Mendoza is a fighter currently boasting a 42-0 (31 knockouts) record and competes in the lightweight division. Despite his impressive record, the Texan fighter has not fought for a world title.
Mendoza is currently 29 years of age, making him 11 years older than Moton. However, it is a challenge that Mayweather’s student is willing to take on.
‘El Zorro’ Mendoza’s last bout came in December when he defeated Yonnaiquer Rondon (22-3-1) in round six.

Abel Mendoza responds to Curmel Moton
In a video posted to X, Mendoza responded to Moton’s claims that he would “do him so bad.”
In the post, Mendoza starts by saying, “I would never go up to a dude and be like, ‘Hey, bro. I’d do you so bad.'”
The American would also go on to say that he feels he would be giving Morton an opportunity if the two were to fight, given their difference in experience. “Why didn’t they give me an opportunity when I was 10-0, 20-0? Now they want a shot? Now they want to call me?”
Mendoza went on to say that he had world title aspirations next, and may look to Moton in the future. “After I knock out Tank [Davis], and he [Moton] becomes a contender, I’ll give him a shot.”
Moton responded to this claim by labeling Mendoza as “delusional.”
In terms of who he would like his next three opponents to be, Mendoza named Rolando Romero, Isaac Cruz, and Gervonta Davis.
Ryan Garcia will return to the ring on the same card as Devin Haney facing Romero. However, Mendoza could be a possible opponent for “Rolly” in the second half of the year.
