Floyd Mayweather has been known for partaking in sports betting over the years, even beyond his fighting days.
Thanks to revenue generated from Mayweather’s huge-money clashes with Conor McGregor and Manny Pacquiao, the undefeated former champion is not short on funds.
Although Mayweather now competes in exhibition bouts that split opinions, he has shared another form of income to his social media.
Following Canelo Alvarez’s title unification bout, his former opponent has shared his winning prediction.

Floyd Mayweather correctly predicted Canelo Alvarez and William Scull to go the distance
Posting to his Instagram story, Mayweather shared to his followers a winning prediction from Alvarez vs William Scull on May 3rd, 2025.
Alvarez and Scull competed in a super middleweight unification bout, as the pair faced off in Saudi Arabia.
Winning the bout via unanimous decision, one of the greatest Mexican fighters of all time, Alvarez, once again became an undisputed champion.
However, Alvarez is not the only one who benefited from the result. As Mayweather made a wager for the title fight, his prediction ended up being correct.

Although the former champion did not predict a winner, he did successfully place a wager that the fight would go the distance. The American bet a sum of $9,464, with the winning betslip returning $22,240.40.
The judges scored the contest 115-113, 116-112, and 119-109, all in favor of Alvarez.

Canelo Alvarez’s last stoppage victory came in 2021 against Caleb Plant
Although Mayweather’s wager was able to earn more than double his stake, Alvarez had gone the distance in his last six fights prior to facing Scull.
The Mexican’s last stoppage victory came in November 2021, when he was able to dispatch Caleb Plant in the 11th round.
Alvarez would then lose his next bout to Dmitry Bivol, being bested via unanimous decision. This was the first of six fights to go the distance before Alvarez’s unification bout.
Among the Mexican’s decision-streak are Gennadiy Golovkin, Jermell Charlo, and Edgar Berlanga. Going the distance with Scull, it was his seventh time in a row hearing the final bell.
