Eddie Hearn reveals why Conor Benn will rewrite the script in rematch with Chris Eubank Jr

Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr. is now set for November 15th in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Conor Benn was handed his first ever defeat last time out as he was beaten in a legacy-defining fight against Chris Eubank Jr.

The rematch seemed dead in the water for a while, as Eubank refused to sign for a fight date in September. Now, the fight is on, and it could be Eubank’s last as his career begins to wind down.

With the Eubank Benn feud now at 2-0 after Chris Eubank Sr.‘s win and draw against Nigel Benn. It seems clear that the only thing that the Benns can do now is issue a conclusive statement in the form of a knockout victory in November.

Eddie Hearn believes Benn can do just that, for one big reason.

Conor Benn took part of Chris Eubank Jr.’s soul after their 12-round war

In an interview with Sky Sports, Hearn suggested this rematch would be more of the same, but with an entirely different outcome.

“Expect round 13. These two ready to go at it again. And we believe our man Connor Benn will be victorious this time.”

He revealed that the fight would be another absolute war and another big night for British boxing, but that Benn would have the edge this time round after the performance he put on in the first bout,

“I think he took a little piece of Eubank’s soul that night. It was a a night where both of them had to go to the trenches. It was an incredible event and this time will be no different. Gunning for our man Connor Ben to end this fight inside the distance.”

Johnny Nelson agrees that Benn will beat Eubank Jr. this time.

Benn lost by unanimous decision in the first encounter, with all three judges seeing the fight the same way and scoring 116-112.

Eubank fell to his knees after the victory, and stood beside his father, who he was previously estranged from, on the biggest night of his career.

With another win, Eubank could earn his shot at Canelo.

Conor Benn could face Manny Pacquiao’s latest opponent soon

As the Eubank Benn rematch appeared to be falling apart, Benn set his sights elsewhere, and one name that cropped up multiple times was Mario Barrios, who fought Manny Pacquiao very recently.

Though many believe Pacquiao did enough to secure the win, he faced a second unsuccessful comeback as the fight was declared a draw.

Barrios is considered one of the weaker world champions, and a fight with Benn could see the championship belt change hands in brutal fashion.

But before any of that, Benn must first try to right his wrongs against his most bitter rival.
