Eddie Hearn reveals fiery exchange between Moses Itauma and Dillian Whyte during intense face-off

Moses Itauma and Dillian Whyte finally faced off yesterday ahead of their crossroads fight this Saturday.

Dillian Whyte remains hopeful that he can prove his time in the sun is not yet over, and that he is still more than capable of stopping the 20-year-old highly touted phenom in Moses Itauma.

Itauma could be asked questions he’s never been asked before by ‘The Bodysnatcher’, and will be forced to come up with the answers if he is to live up to the extremely high expectations put upon him.

Some suggest this fight is too early for Itauma, though others think despite being a battle-hardened veteran of the sport, Whyte is past it and will be light work for the hungry Brit.

Ahead of their fight, Eddie Hearn has revealed just what the two men said to one another at their intense face-off yesterday.

Eddie Hearn claims Moses Itauma tried to intimidate ‘the original bad man’ at face-off

In an interview with TalkSport, Hearn was asked how the build-up to the fight was going and how the face-off went.

The world-class promoter responded, “Moses kind of looked at him and said to him, ‘Take off your glasses, I want to see your eyes,’ and Dillian’s going, ‘What are you talking about? Why are you trying to be a bad man? I’m the original bad man so don’t try to play with me.'”

In some clips of the face-off, Itauma can be seen stating that he wants to see if Whyte’s eyes are those of a wolf or a sheep after being asked by ‘The Bodysnatcher’ why he wanted him to remove his shades.

Hearn believes Whyte’s refusal to be intimidated was a sign that he is not there to be bowled over for a quick payday, “I think he just let him know that he’s there on Saturday night. It’s not going to be a guy that he’s just going to walk through.”

He went on to give his prediction for how the fight may play out:

“Dillian Whyte’s a guy with a lot of pride, you know, he’s extremely tough and rugged, but the first few rounds for Dillian are going to be horrible, because Moses has great feet, great speed, great shot selection – all the things that will trouble Dillian Whyte.”

“But if Dillian Whyte can somehow get close, stay on the chest, rough him up, get him into the fifth, sixth, seventh round, then the questions will start to be asked of Moses.”

David Haye warned Itauma not to underestimate Whyte.

Moses Itauma and Dillian Whyte will both have questions asked of them on Saturday

As the fight nears, both men have a great deal of questions surrounding them.

For Whyte – Have his stretches of inactivity destroyed the momentum he needs? Were his recent poor performances because he lacked motivation against low-caliber opposition, or because he’s past it? Whyte hasn’t looked great since his rematch with Alexander Povetkin. Can he do it? Will Whyte’s impressive weight loss be enough?

For Itauma, though, an equal number of questions are yet to be answered – Is this a step too far, too soon? How will Itauma cope if he has to dig deep? Can he take a shot as well as he gives them? Will the occasion get to him?

Ahead of the fight, it’s worth taking a look at the stats of both men:

As the fight draws ever closer, it remains to be seen whether this could be the final appearance of a fan-favorite in Whyte, and the step-up into the mainstream for Itauma, or if ‘The Bodysnatcher’ can reclaim his career and become a major banana peel for the profile of a highly-touted phenom.
