The Drake curse is well and truly alive once again as the Grammy award-winning artist missed out on a lucrative pay day due to the outcome of Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson.
After months of build up, Paul and Tyson finally met in the ring on Friday night to settle their differences.
There was extra needle heading into fight night after Mike Tyson had slapped Jake Paul around the face in response to the 27-year-old stepping on ‘Iron Mike’s’ foot.
Unfortunately, that would be as good as it got as the fight itself disappointed. Tyson managed to throw just 97 punches across the eight rounds as Paul grabbed a dominant victory.
One judge scored the contest 80-72 while the other two scored it 79-73.
Whilst it was a result that many were expecting, it’s one that Drake will be ruing.

Drake misses out on $1m payout after placing six-figure bet on Paul vs Tyson
Whenever there’s a big event around, you can almost guarantee that Drake has put a bet on it.
The Canadian is a huge combat sports fan and has placed huge wagers on fights involving the likes of Conor McGregor in the past.
Most of his gambles haven’t paid off, so much so that the ‘Drake curse’ was born, leading people to believe that whatever outcome he bets on, the opposite will occur.
Sharing to his Instagram story before the fight, Drake posted a picture of his wage slip in which he had bet $355k on Tyson to defeat Paul by any method, which would’ve returned just over $1m had it come in.

That didn’t go to plan though as Paul’s victory means that the award-winning artist is now $355k out of pocket and the curse once again rears it’s ugly head.
Conor McGregor also misses out on $1m payout from Paul vs Tyson
It wasn’t just Drake who will be frustrated by Tyson’s defeat, with UFC star McGregor also revealing that he had lost out on a potential $1m.
He had predicted that Tyson would knockout Paul and Jon Jones would stop Stipe Miocic at UFC 309.
But now that the first half of his bet fell at the first hurdle, whatever happens in the Jones vs Miocic match-up will be irrelevant and the Irishman will also be far worse off financially.

He has since deleted the tweet confirming his bet, probably because it is no longer coming in.
