Dmitry Bivol vs Artur Beterbiev trilogy demanded by fans after second razor close fight

Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol have once again squared off for the undisputed light-heavyweight crown, topping the bill of what may be the biggest card in boxing history.

The Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol 2 card has seen it all – upsets, knockouts and a whole host of entertaining fights.

From Zhilei Zhang being stopped for the first time by Agit Kabayel, to Callum Smith defying his doubters to beat Joshua Buatsi, all the way to Joseph Parker stopping the feared Martin Bakole in just two rounds.

The card was not without drama, with some fans criticizing the Buatsi vs Smith scoring and others outraged at the Hamzah Sheeraz vs Carlos Adames decision.

Despite this, the event, branded the biggest in boxing, has certainly delivered non-stop action, especially in the main event, where Bivol avenged his loss and defeated Beterbiev by majority decision.

Fans demand trilogy after Dmitry Bivol evens the score against Artur Beterbiev

After two blockbuster fights showcasing the pinnacle of what the light-heavyweight division has to offer, it’s no surprise many fans are requesting a third and final fight between the pair.

Fans have had nothing but high praise for the two fights involving the pair, and are keen to see even more light-heavyweight action.

Though most want to see the pair run it back again, some believe it is only fair that one of the interim champions gets their shot at the title next.

However, with Beterbiev aged forty years old, it is possible he does not fight again.

Who else could Dmitry Bivol face next?

Though the most obvious choice for the next opponent is a trilogy to decide once and for all who is the best light-heavyweight of modern boxing and the true undisputed king, there are two other options that make sense for Bivol to face next.

After winning the WBO interim light-heavyweight title from Joshua Buatsi, Callum Smith is now next in line for a shot at the title.

The Liverpudlian has already faced Beterbiev, but is keen to reach his career goal of becoming a two-weight world champion, and may have more luck against Bivol instead.

Another option is David Benavidez, who, after a win over David Morrell, is also looking to secure his spot as a light-heavyweight world champion.

Regardless of who is next, after 24 rounds together, Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol have given the fans a whole lot of entertainment.
