Devin Haney drops $1 million on extravagant purchase as he celebrates criticized win over Jose Ramirez

Devin Haney returned to the win column in New York City on May 2nd, when he extended his unbeaten record against Jose Ramirez.

As Haney shared a card with rival Ryan Garcia, who suffered an upset defeat, he returned to winning fashion.

Competing in an unusual fight setting, Times Square, it was Haney’s first fight since facing Garcia in April 2024. With that bout being turned into a no contest, Haney earned a victory for the first time since 2023.

Having a one-sided showing against Ramirez, who fell to 29-2, Haney rewarded himself with an expensive purchase.

Devin Haney flaunts seven-figure watch purchase as he celebrates Times Square victory

After a winning performance against Ramirez, Haney has made a huge seven-figure jewellery purchase that has been shared on Instagram.

The Instagram account @bennydajeweler posted a video of Haney in-store purchasing two watches. Although the exact price is not mentioned in the reel, “Another seven-figure day” is mentioned by the jeweller.

Haney puts the first Audemars Piguet watch on his wrist before another, a Rolex, is unveiled. Haney said, “I took a year off, so I decided to get two watches. It’s a special day because it’s number 32 [wins] for me.”

The undefeated fighter then flaunts both watches on either wrist.

Fans were unimpressed by Devin Haney’s performance against Jose Ramirez

Although Haney was able to have a controlling win over Ramirez, his performance did not leave fans impressed after the bout.

Due to the lack of engagement and low punch numbers, fans were critical of former undisputed champion Haney’s performance.

Among the comments on DAZN’s highlight video from the fight are, “The real winners are the ones who never watched the fight.”

“Wow. A three-minute highlight reel without any highlights,” was written by another user before another added, “One of the most boring fights of all time.”

One commentator felt that Haney’s caution was a result of his previous outing with Garcia. “That beating by Ryan definitely made Devin gun shy.”

According to Compubox, both fighters threw a combined 503 punches. This was the 4th fewest in the organisation’s database for a 12-round fight.
