Derek Chisora took just seven seconds to knock down former world champion
In October 2020, Chisora would face modern great Usyk at Wembley Arena for the WBO Inter-Continental Heavyweight title. However, despite having some success, the British fighter lost a unanimous decision against the Ukrainian.
Following the loss, Chisora would look to bounce back against the then-28-2 Joseph Parker.
The pair would meet in 2021, which was three years on from Parker being dethroned as heavyweight world champion by Anthony Joshua.
The fighter from New Zealand was riding a four-fight winning streak going into the bout with Chisora, as the two met in the Manchester Arena.
Despite being the in-form fighter, Parker would not get off to an ideal start. Just seven seconds into the bout for the WBO Inter-Continental Heavyweight title, Chisora would score a knockdown.
An overhand right from Chisora would sneak through the guard of Parker, putting the fighter down in the corner. Seemingly not too bothered by the blow, Parker recovered to continue the fight without concern.
Despite the early action, the fight would go all 12 rounds, resulting in a split decision.
Winning on two of the judges’ scorecards, Parker would be the victor. Not agreeing with the decision, Chisora labeled the decision as “Unbelievable,” calling for a rematch.

Derek Chisora could not right his wrong in Parker rematch
Although Chisora had a lot of success in the opening rounds of his first meeting with Parker, he could not better his performance seven months later.
The two would once again meet in Manchester, however, this time it would be a unanimous decision victory for Parker.
The final scorecards of the bout would be 114-112, 115-111, and 115-110 as Parker was inarguably the winner, scoring knockdowns in the 7th and 8th rounds.
Parker would go on to lose his next bout via knockout to Joe Joyce. However, he recovered well from the knockout, securing five wins in a row, as well as the WBO Interim World Heavyweight title, defeating Zhilei Zhang. The win would then set Parker up for a matchup with Daniel Dubois on February 22nd.
Despite losing to Parker twice, Chisora has picked Dubois to maintain his IBF World Heavyweight title due to concerns over the New Zealander’s chin.
Meanwhile, Chisora may be making the final ring walk of his career on February 8th when he faces Swedish fighter Otto Wallin.
