Derek Chisora gets help from rap royalty and fans to pick retirement opponent from three-man list

Derek Chisora had an unorthodox call-out method following his unanimous decision win over Otto Wallin on Saturday night.

‘War’ was dominant in his ‘Last Dance’ on UK soil as he defeated Swedish heavyweight Wallin on what was an emotional night for Chisora.

Able to build on an impressive victory over Joe Joyce, Chisora was able to give another career-best performance against Wallin at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester.

Although fans were critical of Wallins’ performance, many fans gave Chisora his much-earned credit as he put in a tough and heartfelt performance.

Following the win, Chisora was asked who he would like to face in his final career outing, to which he had an interesting response.

Derek Chisora came prepared for his post-fight call-out with UK rap legends

Speaking in his post-fight interview, Chisora was asked about what opponent he would like to be matched with for his 50th fight.

In response, Chisora said, “We’re going to choose number 50, right here, right now. I want to do something very special right now.” The boxer would then call up UK rappers Skepta, Lethal Bizzle, and Tinie Tempah to assist him with his call-out.

As he was joined by the rappers, Chisora revealed three large posters in the ring.

The three posters featured different heavyweight fighters, including Anthony Joshua, Daniel Dubois, and Oleksandr Usyk. The images were then held up individually as fans cheered for their most desired opponent, with Joshua seemingly getting the loudest response.

“I think I’ve earned number 50, a big blockbuster, please,” Chisora added.

Frank Warren bursting with pride for Derek Chisora

Following the fight with Wallin, boxing promoter Frank Warren was quick to give Chisora his flowers for his performance.

“I can’t tell you how proud I am of him tonight,” Warren said. “What a performance.”

“Everybody in this place [the arena], they love you.”

The boxing promoter would also say that Chisora deserved whatever fight he wanted next, as well as mentioning that he had a fight with Dubois “in the bag.”

The bout between Chisora and Wallin was labeled as a title eliminator for the IBF World Heavyweight Championship, meaning ‘War’ can now look towards the winner of Dubois and Joseph Parker on February 22nd.
