Deontay Wilder will face 24-5 Tyrrell Herndon on the 27th of June in a bid to return to winning ways.
Deontay Wilder has won just one of his last five fights, losing to Tyson Fury, Joseph Parker, and Zhilei Zhang.
Since appointing Malik Scott, Wilder’s former opponent, his career has seen just one victory over Robert Helenius.
Now, after over a year out the ring, Wilder will return against a 24-5 opponent who has lost just once in the last five years.

Tyrrell Herndon speaks on two-round KO loss to Richard Torrez Jr.
Tyrrell Herndon lost to Efe Ajagba in Ajagba’s debut fight. Herndon was also disqualified against Brandon Glanton, who fought Chris Billam-Smith recently.
His most recent high-profile fight, and loss, came against Olympic silver medalist Richard Torrez Jr.
Torrez, who is now 13-0 as a pro with a win over Guido Vianello, faced Herndon in 2023.
Herndon spoke to Da Hangout Spot about the fight: “All I’m doing is stating facts, not so much excuses. I got that call on two weeks’ notice when one of his fights fell off for the Torrez fight.”
“I felt like I was in good enough shape, and he quickly showed me, for me because getting tired after the first round, that I wasn’t.”
Herndon, who appointed a mental coach for the Wilder fight, reveals the key lesson he took from the fight he’ll carry with him against Wilder, who blamed his outfit for his loss to Fury – “Stay ready, don’t get ready.”
