Deontay Wilder’s comeback date revealed as 18-11 heavyweight claims he will face former champion

The former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is set to return in 2025 despite speculation of his retirement

The ‘Bronze Bomber’ Wilder lost his last outing to Zhilei Zhang, making it four defeats from five.

Included in his bad run of form are the first two losses of his career to the ‘Gypsy King’. After Tyson Fury’s remarkable moment against Wilder in their first bout, the American fighter wasn’t able to maintain his undefeated record.

Looking to prove that he is still a top talent in the division at 39, Wilder is set to return to the ring in 2025. However, his opponent boasts a slightly less impressive record.

18-11 fighter claims he has been offered to fight Deontay Wilder

Since being bested twice by Fury in their trilogy, Wilder has been looking to find his way back to the top of the heavyweight division. However, despite being the favorite in bouts against Zhang and Joseph Parker, Wilder has yet to have a high-profile win since his first career defeat.

Wilder’s brutal knockout over Robert Helenius is his only win in the last five years. However, it appears that the ‘Bronze Bomber’ is seeking a lower-profile opponent for his next outing.

Curtis Harper told Ring Magazine that he has signed a contract to fight Wilder.

With a record of 18-11, Harper may not be considered to be the toughest fight of Wilder’s career.

Wilder is set to return in April, and Harper confirmed that this was the month in which he understood they were competing.

Deontay Wilder’s next opponent is known for a bizarre fight in 2018

Harper is by no means a household name, however, boxing fans may be surprised to learn they may have seen Wilder’s potential opponent before.

In 2018, Harper was set to fight Efe Ajagba. Although both fighters were in the ring for the fight, Harper immediately bowed out of the fight as the opening bell rang.

Heading back to his locker room, Harper would be handed a disqualification loss on his record. The fighter claims that his walkout was in relation to a financial protest.

A quick glance at Harper’s record may lead fans to believe that ‘The Hurt’ is in good form. With four knockouts in his last four fights, Harper has been dispatching those in front of him.

However, no opponent he faced in those previous four bouts had a winning record. The four fighters have a combined record of 16-87.
