Former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder continues to play up a blockbuster return to the ring — in rather cryptic fashion, however.
An ex-WBC heavyweight titleholder, Deontay Wilder, has been linked with a whole host of eye-catching fights in his return to the ring.
Recently snapping a two-fight losing run to the veterans Zhilei Zhang and Joseph Parker, Tuscaloosa knockout kingpin Wilder got back to his striking best with a stoppage of Tyrrell Anthony Herndon earlier this summer.

And linked with a potential return to finally fight Anthony Joshua, it seems Wilder has another fight in mind first and foremost.
Deontay Wilder issues cryptic response to Francis Ngannou callout
Another star hopeful of securing a fight with ex-heavyweight champion Wilder is former UFC star Francis Ngannou, who is gunning for a fight with his fellow knockout star in just his third professional boxing match.

And weighing up his immediate future in the sport, Wilder issued a rather cryptic response to Cameroonian star Ngannou, who had called him out recently in a bid to return to the ring himself.
“Respect, but I’m ten toes down. No fear, no fold, no fake.. Always ready, always solid,” Wilder posted on his official Instagram account. “Step in the ring and you’ll see what that means. @francisngannou”
But in his willingness to fight Ngannou in his return to the ring, Wilder has also been tied to another former champion from his generation in the squared circle.
Anthony Joshua urged to fight Deontay Wilder in his return
Missing out on a showdown with Jake Paul later this year, former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been linked with a host of fights in his comeback to the ring.

But while a host of fights have been suggested for the Watford native, many have already been shot down by Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn — who looks to carefully book Joshua’s return to the ring.
As far as fans are concerned, however, Joshua should finally secure himself a lucrative pairing with former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder, with the duo failing to ever share the ring together during their respective primes in the sport.
