David Benavidez has revealed the secret ingredient he believes would be vital to him beating Terence Crawford.
On Saturday night, the Mexican-American will go head-to-head with David Morrell for the WBA Regular light heavyweight world championship.
The event, staged at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, will give the towering athlete an opportunity to become a two-weight world champion.
However, while the icon is stepping up to a new division, he’s more than willing to discuss a showdown with one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet.

With blistering hand speed and dynamite hands, David Benavidez has cemented his place as one of the most ferocious competitors on the planet. In his esteemed career, the 28-year-old has compiled a tremendous resume, beating the likes of Caleb Plant and Oleksandr Gvozdyk.
However, there’s only one man he really wants to share the ring with. Benavidez is desperate to fight Canelo Alvarez, recently upping the trash talk.

And with that in mind, Benavidez opened up about how he’d deal with ‘Bud’, explaining: “To be honest with you, if I fought Terence Crawford, I would definitely use my size, my reach to my advantage.
“Crawford is a very smart fighter, but I guess, thankfully, I’m not fighting him.”
However, before he can focus on anything else, the 6ft2 boxer, must first deal with a tough test in the form of a slick Cuban southpaw.
And it’s fair to say, the champion is a very live underdog, with Mike Tyson naming the punch Morrell could knock Benavidez out with.
