Dave Allen claims Eddie Hearn refused to let him face the opponent he really wanted… ‘Would’ve been perfect’

Dave Allen was left disappointed when Eddie Hearn turned down the idea of him having a third bout with an old foe.

After destroying Johnny Fisher with a ruthless knockout, ‘The White Rhino’ has become one of the biggest stars in British boxing.

In his career, Allen has brutally finished Lucas Browne and won the hearts of the public. However, there’s one loss on his record that still gets under his skin.

And prior to agreeing to a deal to go head-to-head with Arslanbek Makhmudov on October 11, he tried to convince his promoter to let him make things right.

Sheesh: Dave Allen reveals the interesting reason he chose to fight Arslanbek Makhmudov

Dave Allen says Eddie Hearn wouldn’t let him rematch Lenroy Thomas

On May 27, 2017, Dave Allen and Lenroy Thomas battled it out for the Commonwealth title at Brammall Lane in Sheffield, UK.

The Brit didn’t perform to his best, allowing the Jamaican to do the better work and ultimately claim the belt via split decision. The pair rematched, with the bout finishing in a technical draw after ‘The Doncaster De La Hoya’ suffered a cut from an accidental head clash.

Allen would’ve loved the chance to get his revenge, but Eddie Hearn wasn’t keen on the match-up.

In a chat with The Stomping Ground, the fighter said: “I asked about Lenroy Thomas and Christopher Lovejoy. I got told where to f—— go.

Shocked, the interviewer replied: “You asked about Lenroy Thomas?”

Allen chuckled: “100% I did. I said, ‘Eddie, let’s box Lenroy Thomas’. Eddie said, ‘F— off’.

Taken aback, the interviewer then asked: “Is Lenroy Thomas still active?” The boxer laughed: “No, he’s not, which would’ve been perfect. I thought, ‘I’ll f—— do you this time’.”

Dave Allen destroyed an undefeated fighter with a massive right hand in a huge upset

While Allen has fallen short in some of his major contests, he has a plethora of big wins as well.

However, in one particular contest, he was given very little chance of upsetting the apple cart.

And for the first few rounds, all the pre-fight predictions looked correct.

Then, in a moment of madness, Allen destroyed a prospect with a huge punch.
