Darren Till could face a ‘Cobra’ next as he decides between a former world champion and an internet sensation

Darren Till is just days away from his third headlining Misfits event as he takes on Luke Rockhold on Saturday.

Darren Till began boxing in the crossover scene with a first-round stoppage over Mohammad Mutie.

Since then, the former UFC star has fought under the Misfits banner. Till defeated Anthony Taylor by knockout in his Misfits debut after Tommy Fury withdrew from the fight and became the first man to stop the American.

His latest fight saw the Liverpudlian outpoint Darren Stewart over eight rounds. He is now set to face fellow former UFC fighter, Luke Rockhold.

In a recent interview, though, Till hinted at two potential opponents that could come next if he wins this next fight.

Darren Till could face Carl Froch or Andrew Tate in huge December main event

In an interview with IFL TV, Till was asked about rumors that controversial internet sensation and kickboxer Andrew ‘Cobra’ Tate was nearing a deal to make his Misfits debut.

Till said, “Me and him are fighting in December on Misfits. […] Do you not know the roadmap? So, what’s this – my third fight on Saturday? I’m gonna knock Luke flat out, flat out, and I’m gonna call Andrew out on the mic.”

Mams Taylor, the head of Misfits, seemed unaware of these plans, and suggested, “There might be someone else Darren will wanna call out on Saturday.”

He did, however, state, “Anything is a possibility.”

Another fighter Till may want to call out is Tommy Fury, whom he was supposed to fight in January. Fury withdrew from the fight, citing Till’s comments that he would kick or elbow him if he were losing.

When Mams was asked if Till vs Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch was a possibility, Taylor simply responded, “Let’s wait and see on Saturday.”

Till has called out Froch previously. However, Froch turned down a fight with Till months ago.

Froch was a super-middleweight world champion, though has not fought for 11 years.

Darren Till’s first boxing fight ended in a huge brawl

In his first foray into boxing, Till faced Mohammad Mutie, another former MMA fighter, in Dubai.

Till won in the first round via TKO, but ‘The Palestinian Gorilla’s team was not happy about it, and after a verbal exchange between the two fighters, a brawl soon erupted between Till’s team and their own, with Till resorting to his MMA tactics.

In a new documentary revolving around Tommy Fury, a clip of Till doing so was used to back up Fury’s reasoning for withdrawing from their fight.
