Daniel Dubois offered boxing return after shock coach split: ‘I’ve sparred with him many, many times’

Former world champion Daniel Dubois has been offered a route back to the ring by a high-profile former sparring partner.

Coming unstuck in his second title charge against Oleksandr Usyk just earlier this summer, former IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois failed in his bid to become an undisputed heavyweight champion against the Ukrainian.

Disbanding his coaching team and staff once more on the back of his knockout loss to Usyk, Dubois has revealed some quite sizable plans for his return to the ring.

And that potential comeback to action has been offered by a high-profile compatriot whom Dubois trained with in the past.

David Adeleye offers to fight Daniel Dubois in boxing return

Himself returning just earlier this month, David Adeleye took co-main event honors beneath the headliner of Moses Itauma and former world title challenger Dillian Whyte.

Dropping a unanimous decision loss to Filip Hrgovic despite opening a sizable cut on the Croatian’s eye, Adeleye is now back to the drawing board in the wake of his loss.

And what better way to remain active for Adeleye than a clash with Dubois, after the ex-WBO European heavyweight champion shed light on their many sparring sessions in the past.

“I’ve shared a ring many, many times sparring with him (Dubois), so he knows exactly what he’s in with when he gets in there with me,” Adeleye told Sky Sports.

“You’d like to be a fly on the wall in our sparring sessions, but it would be very good if we were to fight each other.

“A good fight, a good shootout. I think the fans will be in for a treat,” Adeleye continued.

Interestingly, this isn’t the only former sparring partner of Dubois to weigh in on the future of the Londoner recently.

Martin Bakole backed to ‘smash’ Daniel Dubois in potential fight

Hitting the headlines earlier this year, DR Congo native Martin Bakole shared the ring with interim WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker on just a few days’ notice in a devastating knockout loss.

A former sparring partner of ex-champion Dubois, Bakole is said to have “smashed” the English star during their numerous sparring sessions, according to Billy Nelson — who claims he would stop the former if they ever actually fought.

“Martin would absolutely smash Daniel Dubois to bits,” Nelson told Boxing Social. “He’s done it previously; he’ll do it again. He’s on a different level than Daniel.
