Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker’s potential clash could be outshone by heavyweight rivals

Daniel Dubois is set to defend his IBF world heavyweight title against Joseph Parker on a blockbuster Riyadh Season show that is being finalised for February 22.

The 27-year-old comes off a stunning fifth-round stoppage victory over Anthony Joshua, announcing himself to the world after scoring the sizable upset in September.

Following his career-best win, though, Daniel Dubois entered negotiations to face the former two-time heavyweight champion in an immediate rematch, before Joshua ruled himself out of the contest.

Instead, it appears that the Brit is now likely to face Parker in a compelling dustup at the beginning of 2025, according to veteran boxing reporter Dan Rafael.

Will Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol 2 headline the Riyadh Season card in February?

With Parker coming off back-to-back victories over Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilder, his potential showdown against Dubois would certainly make for a fascinating spectacle.

However, there are still plenty of moving parts to get ironed out before boxing power broker Turki Alalshikh can announce his next Riyadh Season card.

WBC lightweight titlist Shakur Stevenson, for instance, is seemingly looking to finalise his replacement opponent after William Zepeda pulled out with an injury.

Hoping to remain on the card, it appears that Stevenson could now face Floyd Schofield instead, with the pair suggesting on social media that the fight is a done deal.

Elsewhere on the planned show, Vergil Ortiz Jr has reportedly entered talks for a clash with Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, while a WBC title fight between Carlos Adames and Hamzah Sheeraz is looking increasingly more likely.

In what would be a monumental main-event, though, Rafael has reported that a fiercely anticipated rematch between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol is also in the works.

Could Zhilei Zhang vs. Agit Kabayel steal the show?

With all the excitement surrounding these possible matchups, a mooted IBF title eliminator between Zhang and Agit Kabayel has gone somewhat under the radar.

While, like the rest of the card, this fight is yet to be confirmed, the two fan-friendly heavyweights could potentially steal the show by delivering an action-packed battle.

The winner, of course, would then be next in line to face Dubois, with both Zhang and Kabayel representing dangerous opponents.
