Conor Benn is in attendance at Misfits 22 in support of Joey Essex and Demi Sims.
Conor Benn is in the crowd in Manchester at Misfits 22 as he awaits his friend and recent training partner Joey Essex’s boxing debut.
Essex is the nephew of Benn’s coach, Tony Sims, whose daughter has also fought on the card.
The card opened with a cracker from J’Hon Ingram, who stopped Banty Singh in a fight far removed from those that often garner criticism on Misfits cards.
Benn took to social media to reveal that his views on Misfits may well have changed after an encounter with its founder, KSI.

KSI taught Conor Benn the value of marketing in boxing
As Misfits 22 begins to heat up, Benn took to social media, posting on Snapchat a picture of him and KSI side-by-side.
Benn captioned the post, ‘Told me all about the misfits brand and the show tonight. Goes to show how media and marketing in combat sport is just as important as ability.’
Benn’s sentiment is not untrue, as Misfits has proven that fighters can become household names without the best technical ability. For example, Salt Papi was a nurse just a few years ago and will now face Tony Ferguson due to his star power in the promotion.
‘The Destroyer’ is coming off his first-ever loss against bitter rival Chris Eubank Jr., after the pair fought in front of a packed Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April.
Benn has sparred Essex, a reality TV star, to help him prepare for his debut as he gears up to face Portuguese influencer Numeiro.
The British boxer now looks towards a rematch with Eubank Jr., which will take place at the end of the year.
Conor Benn’s coach watched his daughter secure a win in her debut
In the second fight on the card, Demi Sims, daughter of Tony Sims, secured her first boxing win as she defeated Nadeshi Hopkins in her debut.
Tony Sims is now the trainer of Johnny Fisher and Daniel Dubois, and was known for his work with champions such as Joe Cordina, and rising talents such as George Liddard and Jimmy Sains.
Sims’ biggest star at the moment, though, is undoubtedly Benn, who entered the AO Arena as Sims fought in the ring.
