Conor Benn called out by two-weight world champion for massive fight… ‘I’d love to do it’

Former welterweight kingpin Conor Benn has been offered a massive chance to compete for gold in the division again.

Relinquishing his WBC continental welterweight crown in 2022, Benn made his return to action to finally take on long-time rival Chris Eubank Jr. back in April of this year.

And suffering a decision loss to the IBO middleweight champion, Benn saw his 23-fight unbeaten run in the ring halted.

Booking his comeback in the time since, Benn has now been offered a super showdown this week by a fellow ex-champion.

Devin Haney offers Conor Benn huge fight at 147lbs

Set to rematch compatriot Eubank Jr. as soon as September, Benn will look to get one back against his long-time enemy.

But this week, Benn has been offered another huge showdown — this time by former WBC super lightweight champion, Devin Haney.

“I want him (Conor Benn) to come down to 147 [pounds],” Haney told Seconds Out of a clash with Benn. “And then we can talk about it [a fight].

“…His last fight was at 160 [pounds], so if he can come down to 147, make the weight, then I would love to do it.”

And recently ripping Haney, Benn seemed to goad the Californian into yet another grudge match inside the ring.

Devin Haney responds to “track star” accusations from Conor Benn

Coming under fire almost universally for his performance en route to a win over Jose Ramirez back in May, Haney’s return to the ring was less than impressive, to say the least.

And recently taking aim at both Haney and Shakur Stevenson, outspoken Greenwich star, Benn referred to the duo as “track stars” — accusing them of running in the ring.

Less than pleased with these remarks, Haney hit out at Benn for his past indiscretions with performance-enhancing drugs.

If I want to go fight a PED cheater and a guy who lost his last fight, I might as well go fight Ryan Garcia, right?” Haney explained.

“If that’s the case, the bigger fight is Ryan Garcia,” he added.
