Chris Eubank Jr. is set to fight Conor Benn in a huge British clash that will continue the domestic rivalry of their fathers Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn, but one opponent of Jr.’s says he knows why Eubank Sr. is not involved.
Eubank Jr. has been vocal about disliking Benn and his promoter, Eddie Hearn, and has called them two of the “scummiest” men in boxing. This comes after Benn’s alleged use of PEDs, which he put down to his diet of eggs.
The pair will fight on April 26th in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but there is just one thing missing from the fight, which may turn out to be one of the biggest Britain has seen in recent years.
Promoters Hearn and Ben Shalom have bet a million pounds on their respective fighters.

Billy Joe Saunders claims Chris Eubank Jr. broke his father’s nose
In an interview with Box Nation, Eubank’s former rival, Billy Joe Saunders, speaks on the fight, and on why Eubank Sr., who has explained why he wears a sheriff’s badge, is not a part of the promotion.
Eubank Jr. and Saunders fought in 2014, and Eubank Jr. lost on a split decision. His father has long criticized his performance in the fight.
At the recent press conference, Eubank Jr. stated he had respect for all but one of his previous opponents, and it is safe to say that Saunders is the one in question.
Despite this, Saunders claims he is privy to the details as to why Eubank Sr. won’t be in attendance, stating:
“Rumors are having it that Chris Eubank Jr. waited for [Chris Eubank Sr.] to come out the bathroom at his house, headbutted him in the nose and broke his nose.”
Saunders maintained that he was not joking: “I know that’s what happened.”
Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn winner will get Canelo but Saunders eyes rematch with domestic rival
It has been confirmed by Turki Alalshikh that the winner of Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn will get a fight with Canelo Alvarez.
Eubank Jr. and Canelo have a common opponent in Avni Yildrim, who Eubank Jr. stopped in the third round. The pair have also both faced Saunders.
When asked whether this is a step too far for either fighter, Saunders said:
“Boxing is the only sport you can legally get killed in and to participate in it you have to be worth every penny you can make. When someone says ‘is that a step too far?’ Well he’s not gonna really gauge his level off of Eubank because he’s not world class.”
Saunders says he believes Benn has what it takes to defeat Eubank Jr.
Saunders has not fought since losing by stoppage to Canelo back in 2021, but said on the topic of a comeback: “If there was a fight that would give me that urge to put them back on it would most definitely be Eubank.”
