Chris Eubank Jr trains under the same coach as one of the biggest heavyweight legends

Chris Eubank Jr. is gearing up for the biggest fight of his career against Conor Benn, who is moving up in weight to face him tonight in a bid to continue his family legacy.

Chris Eubank Jr. is nearing the end of his career at the age of 35 as his fight with Conor Benn draws ever closer.

His career has seen highs and lows, such as his losses to Billy Joe Saunders, George Groves, and Liam Smith, whose blood adorns Eubank’s new jacket.

Eubank Jr. has also worked with a variety of coaches, from his father Chris Eubank Sr. to Roy Jones Jr., and now to Johnathon Banks, who trained multiple boxing legends, including one heavyweight great.

Johnathon Banks has trained a host of fighters throughout his career. He retired as a boxer in 2014 after suffering a loss to Antonio Tarver, and finished his career with a record of 29-3-1.

In his training career, Banks became head trainer to Wladimir Klitschko after Emmanuel Steward passed away in 2012.

Klitschko is widely regarded as one of the greatest heavyweights to have ever lived, and holds the records for most fighters beaten for the heavyweight championship at 23, and longest cumulative heavyweight title reign at 4,382 days.

Banks also trained Dillian Whyte after 2015, though Whyte now trains under Buddy McGirt.

Eubank Jr. was meant to fight Gennady Golovkin in 2016, but it was from 2019 that Banks became head trainer to Golovkin. Eubank one-upped Golovkin with his win over Kamil Szeremeta.
