Chris Eubank Jr and Frank Warren trade verbal blows before unexpected conclusion is reached

Frank Warren has now responded to Chris Eubank Jr’s claim that he was sued around £200,000 by the hall of fame promoter.

The allegation was made during a heated press conference, where the world’s media gathered to celebrate a stacked card headlined by Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol.

With the undisputed light heavyweight crown on the line, the Riyadh Season event on October 12 – featuring Eubank Jr’s clash against Kamil Szeremeta – is set to deliver fireworks.

However, instead of discussing his next outing at Wednesday’s press conference in London, Chris Eubank Jr chose to verbally attack Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn.

Frank Warren responds to Chris Eubank Jr’s outburst

While Warren received the brunt of Eubank Jr’s force, Eddie Hearn and Kalle Sauerland did not get off lightly either, with the super middleweight contender branding all three promoters as ‘scumbags.’

But it was the Queensberry Promotions boss who delivered the first counter, explaining why he previously took legal action against the son of legendary boxer Chris Eubank.

“He was sued by me for a legal breach of a contract and I was successful in suing him and he paid substantial damages,” Warren told talkSPORT.

“Now you know what he can’t accept is what’s legal and what’s not. And as regarding what he’s just said just so you know I’m gonna keep it short and sweet. He’s gonna get sued again for the comments that he’s made publicly.

“He will be sued and he will have a problem over that and anybody else who says it, they can get in that queue.”

Chris Eubank Jr and Frank Warren issue statements

With Warren threatening to sue the former world title challenger, it was only a matter of time before boxing’s next soap opera emerged.

But, just as their bizarre feud was beginning to catch fire, Eubank Jr and Warren both issued formal statements to finally put their differences to bed.

Eubank Jr began by saying that he would like to “retract his inaccurate statements”, before confirming that he remains focused on reigniting his boxing career.

In response, Warren graciously accepted the 35-year-old’s apology, and claimed that he looks forward to seeing him compete on the “huge” Riyadh Season card in October.
